As for furniture, the two styles definitely differ. Mountain Modern design allows you to play with all different kinds of textures and it really focuses on bringing the beautiful elements of nature into your home by experimenting with various types of wood and stone. Minimalistic design allows you to play with textures too, in order to bring life into your space, but it is a lot more simple— think of it as the style that really highlights the art of decluttering your space. For example, you’re more likely to use a wool blanket or rug to bring a nice accent to the space.

To recap, when you think of mountain modern, you think of a cozy space where nature meets living. You find a way to bring the calmness of the outdoors into your space through design elements. Minimalist design focuses more on a clean, crisp, monochromatic look.
